Sometimes, when trying to Continue or Load the game from the main menu, the game will begin loading, but stay loading 'forever' (slides will still change, and the roulette wheel will still spin, but the game will never actually load - tested up to 25 minutes), this is easily solved, just clear the cache on your Hard-Drive (Xbox 360) and it should then allow you to load.
this problem for xbox360, but i have the same problem for pc, how can i fix it. i have 1.4 patch and 3 expansion pack. this problem can happen every loading screen, not just save or continue game ,
Had this problem on PC as well. Started FALLOUT and selected save game, after this endless loading. Same occured several times. When I restarted Fallout and waited little longer in menu screen and after this loaded the same game, it worked perfectly. .. Was maybe just too fast or something.
It seems usefull. I found another way, start new game, after load your game. But i still have problem, i said this problem occure almost every loading screen, example: enter Old Mormon Fort or somewhere. Balthazar111 2:00 07.30.
Problem is solved. I don't know how but i gess something is wrong in my current game. I start a new game and play nearly 5 hours everything is allright.
Waiting longer in the menu screen seems to be what fixed it for me. ~
For what it's worth (who frickin knows when it comes to this bug infested piece of crap), the 'forever' loading screens and the lag after fast travel/going from one game world to another seems to be directly related to the size of your currently saved game. For example, you can have all DLCs installed and have accomplished almost everything in the game and your save file could be around 12 to 14 Mbs. The hunter download launcher. However when you start a new game, your saved game will be extremely lower than this, like around 900 Kbs. This is probably why in a new game you can play for awhile without any issues (except known bugs, like Nash not leave the Casino in Primm after you re-establish law there). Because of all the issues with this game, it might be wise to complete only 2 of the DLCs per playthrough to help keep the file size down. Again for what it's worth, hope this is helpful. --Kid Ego 22:17, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

Here is a interior exit to outside save file that works without a issue. For reference, it's before killing the deathclaw and on top of the building which you can spot the texture issues from.
There are 4 Different save systems in this game, 1) Manual Save via menu, 2) Quicksave via menu or F5, 3) Exitsave when leaving/entering a area, 4) Quitsave when quiting the game direct to desktop via menu.
EDIT: It appears all my 3 saves at this point below are corrupt? The load-screen freezes at some point.
FO4 Broken Saves.zip (this is directly after killing the deathclaw)
I find it odd that my other save files work, perhaps interior and EXIT area saves are unaffected. or the issue appears after a certain amount of play time. Not sure how DXVK can affect that sort of thing.
NOTE: Ignore the file sizes, seems interior and exterior have quite different savefile size.
EDIT2: Issue does not appear to be related to the f4se (script extender) or any dxgi performance tuner stuff. Just thought I mention that since I tested it with and without those things. Same problem.
Thanks for the response Internet Expert. I have been chatting with some support staff as well.
I did indeed try to delete the reserved space. It didn't work.
When chatting with support, they suggested 2 things. That my hard copy disc is scratched/defective and that's why that wasn't working. I disagree with them since, as mentioned, I also downloaded a version of the game which is stuck with the same problem on the same screen.
Second, they could see that my downloaded version didn't sync up with my xbox account. They could see I purchased the download, but for whatever reason it wouldn't sync with my account which was causing issues. However, I followed their instructions and deleted my xbox gamertag account from the xbox, power cycled the xbox off, then restarted and resigned in with my profile. That didn't work.
While support is refunding my downloaded game purchase, their next suggestion is to repurchase the fallout 4 game on a different console such as a PC in order to get it to sync better with my profile. I'm refusing to do this as I don't want to spend any more money on this and it seems ridiculous to be forced to purchase an xbox one game on my PC and then work with transferring it over.
I think you may be right about an issue with my hard drive, although I should note every other game I have seems to be working properly.

I was going to play Fallout 4 in anticipation for Fallout 76 release, but now I remember why I quit playing it. I have had the issue on 2 characters after I get a ways into the game (over 1 day playtime) I start getting infinite loading screens after a few minutes of play when fast traveling or entering a location. It works fine on a new character when I start though. No issues with performance other than this. Any tips to fix the issue would be appreciated. Thanks

I am attempting to launch either vanilla or modded Fallout 4, but either way, I cannot get past the initial loading screen. It freezes the second the circle in the bottom right corner comes up.
Since I am using Nexus Mod Manager, I thought that was the problem and uninstalled all mods I had loaded and disabled all mods checked. Still, that did not fix the problem. I have since wiped everything from the Fallout 4 folder and reinstalled the game completely - but it still won't launch.
You must also delete C:Users*your name*AppDataLocalFallout4 –Fallout 4 crashes on startup, community.bethesda.net
This directory contains your mod and .esp load order (save it somewhere else!), which the program is calling for and cannot access because they don't exist anymore. (= crash)
The last time that I had that issue was when I tried to run Fallout 4 on a computer that couldn't handle the graphics, check your graphics card and make sure it can handle Fallout 4 even on minimal graphic settings.

Have you considered to look into the papyrus logs?If i remember correctly you can activate logging in the Fallout4.ini. The logs will be generated in the user folder in Documents/Fallout4/logs. This maybe give you a hint what goes wrong.
